Catch-Stitch

Catch-Stitch
CATCH-STITCH
A stitch sometimes called the herringbone-stitch because of its resemblance to a herringbone. Used to fasten seams securely, or to make flat hems when the back of the material is not to be in evidence. One part of the stitch is taken through the seam or hem allowance and the other through the material.
